Magical {Stardust Celebrations, Stanley Korshak}

Thursday morning, mom and I picked up my sweet sister from the airport and kicked off her weekend home with some great friends, Lindsay and Katie, and great mexican food, at Meso Maya, for lunch.  The food was so good (the chips and queso are gluten free!) that I thought out loud, "What about having our rehearsal dinner here..."  I'm always on the lookout for a great place with great food (preferably mexican food) to have our rehearsal dinner.  We spent our lunch catching up with Haley, asking her all about Denver, catching up with each other and even talked a little about the wedding and our upcoming engagement party.  Oh, what to wear!?  Mom, Haley and I came back to my apartment and spent some time talking about the music for the ceremony.  After brainstorming, we came up with some very romantic and beautiful ideas (can't give it away before the wedding!) and as soon as they left, I emailed the contact - she is available on May 4, 2013 so I will need to set up a meeting with her soon!

I woke up early Friday morning, too excited to sleep, to this sweet little note from my sweet little fiancé!  I had my first wedding dress appointment of the weekend that afternoon at Stardust Celebrations in Plano.  Mom met me there and my consultant, Marianne, led us upstairs to begin my search for the dress.  Marianne was great and pulled some really great dresses.  But I left Stardust feeling uneasy and unsatisfied.  Something was missing.

Switching gears to something more successful than my appointment at Stardust:  Friday afternoon, mom, Haley and I went to Times Ten Cellars for the wine tasting for our engagement party.  We had a blast!  Our bartender, James, was so fun and so knowledgable about the wines.  We were able to narrow it down to three different bottles of Red and two different bottles of White that we will be serving at the party.  Yay!

Saturday morning I started my day at the Dry Bar (I needed some pampering after a disappointing day at Stardust yesterday).  My dress appointment that afternoon was at Stanley Korshak and I was so excited and so blessed to have my sister and my Aunt Bobbie join mom and me.

Haley helping me find the dress!

I tried on several beautiful dresses but I can't even begin to describe how I felt when I put "the one" on.  I couldn't wait to walk out and show the girls this dress.  They were in awe of it just as I was, but I had one more dress to try on so I hurried back to the dressing room.  It was beautiful too but everyone said, "Go back and put that other one on."  So I did and when I came back into view, Mom, Haley, Bobbie and I all started to cry and giggle at the same time (it even made the consultant and the intern want to cry).  "Magical."  That's the best way to describe that whole experience - THE dress, having my family with me, imagining walking down the isle to Matt - my best friend in the whole world - marrying him, committing my life to him.  I envisioned us standing together, holding hands, promising forever to each other, Matt in his suit and me in this dress.  "Magical."

August wedding to do list:

-Discuss and decide if we want a live band or DJ for the receptions (thoughts?)
-Research airline and hotel reservations for guests
-Meet with our officiant (in person or via Skype)
-Finalize my bridesmaids and Matt's groomsmen; finalize ceremony ushers
-Research bridesmaids dresses (styles, colors, etc...)
-Research ceremony music
-Celebrate our engagement with family and friends on August 17 :)

9 months to go!
